Varsity vs RUSSELLVILLE HIGH SCHOOL The Hopkins County Central Lady Storm appeared headed for their second win of the season Friday evening. They led Russellville 5-1 going into the sixth inning and the momentum on their side of the field. Then the Lady Panther bats woke up. Russellville scored six runs in the final two innings as the Lady Panthers came from behind to take a 7-5 win over the Lady Storm in Mortons Gap. Russellville strung together four straight hits to score a pair of runs in the sixth to cut the lead to 7-3. The first seven batters all reached base safely for the Lady Panthers in the top of the seventh as they plated four runs to get to the lead. Russellville pitcher Rylee Grayson then set the Lady Storm down in a quiet bottom of the 7th to close out the comeback win. Hopkins County Central had taken the 5-1 lead thanks to a four-run bottom of the third that had been set up by three Russellville errors. Addison Blanchard and Cadence Allen were both 2-4 for Hopkins County Central (1-9). Ava McCord finished 1-3 with two RBIs. Emily Ballard got the start in the circle for the Lady Storm. She went 5 ⅓ innings, giving up three runs, two of them earned, on three hits, striking out three and walking one.
